Abstract

We thank Aba Mahamat and colleagues for their comments on our Article1 and patient data illustrating a difficult case successfully treated with combined albendazole and praziquantel. We do not deem use of the combination a “shift”, rather a refinement in use of antiparasitic treatment to destroy viable brain parasites, which has been in use for more than 25 years.
