Resumen
It was studied the leaf anatomy and was performed a histochemical analysis of Capparis avicennifolia Kunth from San Pedro de Lloc district. Thirty leaves were collected in February 2011, from the middle third of the plant, and then they were washed and dried at room temperature. Five leaves got diaphanous for the anatomical study, next it was made cross and superficial handfree cuts and colorations with safranin and methylene blue. The leaves were hipostomatic with anomositic stomata, stellate trichome at abaxial side, dorsiventral mesophyll. Besides, the adaxial side is isodiametric with collaterals vascular bundles, some of these features show an adaptation to arid environments. For histochemical analysis, five leaves were fixed in Formalin Aceto Alcohol (FAA), then it was made cross and superficial handfree fresh cuts. It was identified and located: sterols, flavonoids, tannins, lignans, amino acids and lipids total, and alkaloids
