Results: Of the 168 medical records diagnosed with gestational diabetes, a total of 44 (26.2%) of obese patients were found, 36.4% had a macrosomic neonate and 124 (73.8%) were not obese, of which 21% had macrosomic offspring. In addition, the probability of presenting fetal macrosomia before a pre-gestational obesity is 2.15 more than if this factor was not present, the relationship for these values being significant. [OR = 2.15; IC 95% (1.02 - 4.56); p = 0.0427] and with a Chi Square of χ² = 4.1056. Conclusion: Pre-gestational obesity is a risk factor for fetal macrosomia, in patients who have a diagnosis of gestational diabetes at the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital
