Modelo de entrega de servicios de estimulación temprana diseñado hacia la universalización de la atención para fortalecer el desarrollo del potencial intelectual de niños de 0 a 3 años de edad

Este informe es una propuesta de Modelo de entrega de servicios de estimulación temprana diseñada para la universalización de la atención, cuya aplicación contribuya a fortalecer en forma viable, el desarrollo del potencial intelectual de niños de 0 a 3 años de edad. Los servicios se entregarían en centros de educación inicial. Las madres participan como agente educador esencial: inscriben al niño en un centro de educación inicial donde ellas reciben orientación e instrucciones de profesoras capacitadas, acerca de como estimular e interactuar con sus hijos en el hogar, tanto en las áreas motoras gruesa y fina, de adaptación personal social, perceptual cognoscitiva y desarrollo del lenguaje. Luego de una evaluación de entrada en la que se orientan actividades específicas, las madres regresan al CE con el niño para sesiones de refuerzo según un cronograma de seguimiento. En ellas se hacen los reajustes necesarios para continuar el trabajo de estimulación del niño en el hogar y vuelven a ser orientadas de acuerdo a la madurez adquirida por el niño. La aplicación del Modelo contribuiría a fortalecer dichas áreas en el niño y mejorar la interacción que recibe en el hogar. El Modelo fue aplicado de modo exploratorio en un centro preescolar del estado, desde abril a octubre de 2006, trabajando con diez niños y sus madres en el Jardín de Niños “Ada Consuelo de Bazán” en La Encalada, Enclave en desventaja socioeconómica y cultural, ubicado en el contexto urbano de la ciudad de Trujillo. Se evaluó con las Tablas de Desarrollo del Proyecto Memphis. Los resultados evidenciaron el fortalecimiento del desarrollo del potencial intelectual en los niños evaluados, destacando en el área de Personal Social, Lenguaje y Coordinación Motora Fina según las particularidades de los casos específicos. A su vez, las madres mejoraron la interacción con su hijo. Niños que iniciaron el programa con muchas limitaciones o aquellos cuyo potencial no había sido desarrollado a su real nivel, mejoraron su aprestamiento. El estudio reafirma así la utilidad y viabilidad que tendría para el estado la aplicación de este modelo como un aporte consistente a las políticas educativas para la infancia en la región.
