La presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la influencia de la dosis y el tiempo óptimo de contacto de la cáscara de plátano (Musa paradisiaca) en la remoción de zinc (Zn) en aguas del Rio San Lorenzo - Shorey, usando los métodos de gravimetría y espectrofotometría. Para este estudio se utilizó una muestra de 30 L de agua del río San Lorenzo de la cual se sustrajo 500 ml para cada prueba, asi mismo, se empleo el método del test de jarra a una revolución de 100 rpm para los tiempos de contacto de 12, 24 y 48 horas, a continuación, se dejo reposar reposar 30 minutos para la sedimentación y la lectura de la concentración final de zinc (Zn). Se tuvo una concentración inicial (Ci) de zinc de 5.06 ppm ; por cada dosis de: 5, 10 y 15 g. del biosorbente (Musa paradisiaca). Finalmente, se obtuvo como resultado que la biomasa tiene eficiencia de remoción más alta de zinc al 86% , usando 10 g de cáscara de plátano con un tiempo de contacto de 12 hrs y con una concentración final (Cf) de 0.7790 ppm. Y con una remoción menor de 59% , utilizando 15 g de biomasa, con un tiempo de 48 hrs y con una concentración final (Cf) de 2.3181 ppm.
