Resumen
Diarrheal diseases refer to the increase in the frequency of bowel movements (more than 3 times in 24 hours), are generally preventable and treatable, are classified as acute (EDA) and chronic (EDC), usually a symptom of a system infection digestive. Of the preventive measures, the most important, least expensive and most effective is hand washing, to avoid the penetration of any infectious agent that causes diarrhea. Often, cases of EDA, are characterized by lasting less than 2 weeks and in some cases can be up to 4 days and disappear spontaneously. With regard to the etiology of EDA, the first place is occupied by viral causes, followed by bacterial causes, for which it is important as health professionals to know about the epidemiological characteristics of the microorganisms that frequently cause diarrhea. It must be considered that, without timely treatment, potential complications for the individual may be triggered: sepsis, severe dehydration (marasmus or kwashiorkor) and even death. Therefore, for a better understanding of the health-disease process of the EDA, the epidemiological chain with its respective elements was taken as reference. The objective of this research work was to propose care plans focused on prevention and control, using the NANDA taxonomy (diagnoses), NOC (results) and NIC (interventions) based on the Theory of Virginia Henderson and thus help restore the health of the patient.
