Resumen
The growth of a company depends essentially on customer satisfaction, therefore an organization that offers throughout its structure, as an organization, service, product, the relevant quality, will be driven by it and will proportionally increase consumer satisfaction and cost effectiveness. Currently there are different models of quality management, which are backed by international certifications, and companies implement them in their structures to have that support that provides continuous improvement, equivalent to a competitive advantage, which places them one step in front of those companies that lack them. The following work was carried out a quantitative investigation to determine the feasibility of implementing a quality management system in MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) of the Machala canton, through surveys, we analyze the economic activity they perform, if they count with a quality management system, managers' knowledge about a model, if they are willing to implement it, and if they would adopt a quality management model in their organizational structures. The results obtained were very interesting, there is a high percentage of MIPYMES that do not have an implemented quality management system, and a high percentage of intention to implement some, since it was additionally obtained, from the respondents, responsible administrators and managers, that the system promotes competitive advantage in the market.
