dc.description.abstractGlaucoma is a chronic disease characterized by a neuropathy that produces irreversible damage to the optic nerve, producing progressive loss of vision to blindness, therefore, its timely diagnosis is essential to be able to perform an assistance, therapeutic and appropriate referral, integrated and integral. This study presents a bibliographic review of scientific articles, focused on the use of direct ophthalmoscopy for the analysis of the fundus as a screening method in adults with risk factors, as well as symptomatology of suffering said pathology, in the first level of health care focused primarily on rural areas of difficult access where diagnostic resources are scarce and limited. Therefore, this document will be useful both for medical students in training and for general practitioners in full exercise of their profession, where importance is given to the development of skills and abilities for the realization of the fundus in the physical examination, tending to clinical criteria that will help the evaluation of patients.
