INTRODUCTION: High blood pressure (HBP) is a global public health problem, which is between 30% and 45% of the general population. It is considered one of the main cardiovascular risk factors (CV), and is responsible for a very high morbidity and mortality.
OBJECTIVE: For the correct use of chronotherapy in Arterial Hypertension, by reviewing the scientific literature, for a correct management of this pathology.
METHODOLOGY: For the elaboration of this bibliographic work, a search of scientific information was carried out in databases such as PUB MED, PMC, Scielo, Cochrane, which has been published since 2014, in indexed journals.
CONCLUSION: The use of chronotherapy in hypertension is a technique that takes into account the circadian cycle of blood pressure and helps to better control blood pressure in a day and night, reducing adverse effects and risk factors such as : myocardial disease, infarction. According to the studies, we will take an hour before going to bed, we will help control blood pressure while sleeping, greatly reducing the risk of cerebrovascular events.
