Resumen
Objective: To analyze a real case of a 3-year-old pediatricpatient diagnosed with Wilms ' Tumor, through thedocumentary review of the clinical history and bibliographicsources that allow the elaboration of specific nursing care inthis Pathology. Métodología: The study carried out is descriptive-retrospective because it was possible to collect and analyzedata from a real patient obtained through the review of theclinical history and search for information based onscientific evidence, we made the Comparison of our resultswith research obtained by other authors in order to findsimilarities or differences in the case. Results: The case of a 3-year-old pediatric patient who wasdiagnosed with Wilms ' Tumor was analyzed, arepresentative sign was the unquantified thermal boost,which, despite the administration of oral and intravenousantipyretics, application of Physical means ceded butpersisted; As well as the finding by image of a simpleabdominal UROTAC, where it was observed the presence ofa tumor mass of 10x 9.4 cm that occupies 2/3 of left kidneyand adrenal gland and spleen. On the eighth day ofhospitalization the patient's abdominal perimeter was 55cm. Altered functional patterns were identified and nursingcare was provided, based on the basic needs of the humanbeing according to Virginia Henderson's theory, so theparents of the child were also educated, given that it is alittle pathology Frequent and currently there are noprotocols that focus on specific care for this pathology. The patient was referred to the Hospital of the child Dr.Jorge Icaza Bustamante of the city of Guayaquil withpediatric oncology where he is receiving treatment ofchemotherapy and radiotherapy. Conclusion: The nursing care process in the pediatric patientwith Wilms ' tumor focuses on restoring the short ormedium term health of each altered pattern, in order torestore their health, assist in the process of adapting to theirnew style of Life and achieve independence in carrying outtheir activities with support from their family environment.There are studies which indicate that Wilms ' tumor is arenal neoplasm infrequently in the pediatric age, accordingto our study the patient carrying this pathology is three-year-old male, at the time of collecting information from thehistory Clinic, does not record pathological or family history,it was determined in this case that the neoplasia is ofcongenital origin, given that it meets the diagnostic criteria,it was classified in stage III. The performance of the nurse isessential and of utmost care in the treatment of this type ofcancer, given its infrequency and prevalence there is noclinical guide of nursing that serves as guideline for theprofessionals of that branch, since they are who They are indirect care with the patient and value their healthfrequently
