dc.description.abstractThe Senile population in the last decades has increased worldwide its probability of life with it also the risk of suffering some pathology of age, due to various factors: biological, physical, psychological and environmental existing during this stage of life. One of the risk factors that is considered as one of the three pathologies that cause the loss of autonomy and the cause of dependence is senile dementia; which is a cognitive disorder that affects adults over 65, the same one that is associated with Alzheimer's disease. The main symptomatology is: the gradual and progressive loss of memory affecting the motor, cognitive and cognitive area consecutively. It has been considered that one of the main risk factors is age, lifestyle and genetics. Must be diagnosed in a timely manner, not as an alternative measure for a cure but as a means to delay their evolution and prevent further damage. The nursing staff plays a fundamental role in the detection of this alteration, through direct and timely intervention in the elderly population. The objective of this work is to identify the process of nursing care that contributes to improving the quality of life individually, family and community; by means of the application of the Marjory Gordon Theory the same one that allows to value, diagnose and intervene using the functional patterns that serve as a guide for the nursing interventions.
