Resumen
The consumption of drugs is a problem of primary care due to the number of people dependent on drugs and above all to evidence of cases of consumption in the minor population with the serious consequences that this early use can produce. Objective: Analyze the information obtained about the use of drugs in minors. Materials and methods. For the realization of this work, information was collected from various articles published in electronic scientific journals, accessing them through the Google scholar, Elsevier, Scielo platforms, as well as data obtained from the Secretary of Drug Prevention of Ecuador. Results: It has been possible to determine that in Ecuador the average age of onset for the use of drugs in minors is between 14 and 15 years old, with male adolescents being more vulnerable. In addition, there are many predisposing factors to increase the early start of consumption, of these the one that has the greatest impact is the environment in which the adolescent develops. Likewise, the presence of violent acts is related to the consumption of this type of substance. The most effective protection factor would be the design and implementation of programs with several components. Conclusion: The consumption of drugs in minors is a multifactorial problem, which is favored by the environment that surrounds youth today which presents many facilities for drug use, so emphasis should be placed on the risk factors.
