Resumen
Introduction: Chronic Renal Disease is a multifactorial disease of progressive and irreversible nature that is mainly related to the main causes of death in Ecuador, which are diabetes mellitus (7.44%) and hypertensive diseases (6.64%). Objective: To establish the factors of progression to Chronic Kidney Disease in diabetic and hypertensive patients and the prevalence of renal replacement therapy in Latin America. Methodology: A bibliographic search of diverse scientific scientists was carried out in indexed web magazines of the Web of Science, Pubmed, Medscape, Science Direct, published during the last 5 years, in relation to the subject of study. Results: The prevalence of renal replacement therapy from 2015 to 2016 shows an increase of 4%, that is, 776 patients per million inhabitants. In the MSP in 2013, 90% of patients performed this technique and 10% performed peritoneal dialysis; At present, the prevalence of peritoneal dialysis has decreased and functional renal transplantation function has increased. Hypertension, hyperglycemia, variability of heart rate, dyslipidemia and chronic use of NSAIDs. Conclusion: Patients should be educated about recurrent medical controls, health training, improve the patient's medical relationship and evaluate the factors that relate to primary and specialized care, and not to progress a terminal chronic kidney disease.
