The way of doing business has changed today. It is remarkable the presence of companies that go to the internet to offer their products and offers, making the communication between company and client more agile. Electronic commerce has expanded to all corners with excellent results for organizations that have opted for this resource to develop their commercial activities. One of the largest companies in the world of electronic commerce is Amazon of North American origin that began marketing books, nowadays having a variety of products among the ten leading organizations that sell online or electronically. The main objective of the work is to analyze the purchasing system of a virtual company for the reduction of costs and customer satisfaction. As a methodology, the descriptive one will be applied to be able to detail the purchase system undertaken by the virtual companies, accessing bibliographic information contained in scientific papers, as well as in books that can be accessed through the internet. It has been established that the model of economic quantity of order (EOQ) is the system that best suits the economic claims of the Amazon company in terms of inventory management is concerned, this company has also undertaken additional strategies to optimize delivery of products to its customers, which has made it one of the leaders in electronic commerce.
