Resumen
The problems associated with waste generated by hospital centers have been of international concern. This motivation occurs due to the wide spectrum of dangerousness, ranging from the potential spread of infectious diseases, to environmental risks derived from the methods used for their treatment and final disposal. That is why the problem has transcended the technical health field and has involved social, economic, political and environmental aspects. Due to the foregoing, the objective was to identify negative environmental impacts generated by the "Teófilo Dávila Hospital" through an in-situ diagnosis, for the application of preventive and corrective measures. The research presents a descriptive approach, which reflected the main impacts that were evident in the visits and interviews with those in charge of the different areas of the hospital. The methodology used is descriptive in nature, which reflected the main environmental impacts, which were evidenced in the visits and interviews with those in charge of the different areas of the hospital. The quantitative method was also used, where different statistical data was obtained on the amount of waste generated by the hospital on a daily basis. However, a mixed matrix for the evaluation of environmental impacts was also developed, in which the method of Vicente Conesa Fernández and Javier Granero Castro was combined, in which the importance of the environmental impact was obtained, to make way for the approach of preventive measures and corrective.
