Resumen
Objective. Evaluate and modify knowledge, attitudes and practices on transmitted infections (STI) and sexual AIDS in students of a School of the University of Cuenca.
Materials and method: In a form before and after study was carried out a quasi experimental including 72 students of the School of Communication Social of the Faculty of Philosophy who applied in the pre-CAP a questionnaire to measure knowledge, attitudes and practices within three months of an educational intervention and ITS measured changes post-CAP.
Results: All responded pre and post-CAP form. The average age of the sample was 21.6 ± 2.7 years (18 to 33), 77.8% of men with 52.8% of women. 81.3% Catholic, 76,4% live in the urban area. The age of active sex life of 63,7% of the group home was between 12 and 23. He was a significant increase in knowledge about ITS: condiloma, herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, tricomona and clamidiasis, and on signs and symptoms (P < 0.05) not on the routes of transmission. Attitudes there was a significant increase in the recommendation go in case of carry an STI (P = 0.002), about condom use (P = 0.006) and the recommendation to wash themselves in case of relations with strangers (P = 0,023). In practice there was a significant increase in conversation with the couple (P = 0.003) relations intoxicated decrease (P = 0,023) and increase the use of condoms in fortuitous relations (P = 0,026
