During the hospital stay, the most important predictor of patient satisfaction, is the care provided by the nurses 365 days, in different days.
Objective: To correlate the level of satisfaction between hospitalized patients and nurses working at night hours. Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, Cuenca – Ecuador, 2016.
Method and technique: Analytical, cross-cut, relational study, two populations are studied: hospitalized patients and professional nurses, who work at night hours; To which the surveys will be applied.
Instrument: Validated form “The Night Nursing Care Instrument”; Translated and validated in Colombia, the result is: X2 with Yates correction = 50.79; P <0.001. The reliability of 0.91 in nurses and 0.88 in patients.
Universe and sample: Hospitalized patients and nurses working at night hours; The sample of 476 respondents: 124 nurses and 352 patients.
Results: Is obtained: In patients; 50.2% female, 42.6% third level of education, mean age 38.88 + 12.28, days of hospitalization 5.34 + 4.76; In Analysis of Variance a mean of 46.6 + 0.4; In the Spearman Correlation p = 0.000 in all variables; 94.9% satisfaction. In the nursing staff; 89.5% female, 95.2% third level of education, mean age 31.9+ 6.7; In Analysis of Variance the mean of 40.2 + 0.8; 91.1% satisfaction with their night work in the work areas.
Conclusion: The satisfaction perceived
by nursing staff and patients with night care is at high levels, which reflects the quality of care provided by the hospital
