Resumen
Background: Manual Uterine Aspiration is currently recognized by the World Health
Organization as an effective, efficient and safe method for the evacuation of intrauterine
contents. The main indications for this procedure are incomplete abortion, hydatidiform mole,
and taking biopsies in endometrial pathology
General Objective: Describe the main causes of Uterine Manual Aspirate in patients who
attended the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital in the year 2019.
Methods: The study is descriptive and retrospective. Information was collected from all the
medical records of hospitalized patients in the gynecology service who underwent the
Endouterine Manual Aspirate procedure at the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital in 2019. The
data was obtained using a data collection form and systematized using free access statistical
software compatible with Windows X. Descriptive statistics were used for the analysis.
Results: The main cause of Manual Endouterine Aspiration was abortion and its clinical
presentations; the majority group was deferred abortion with a percentage of 42.7%. In this
study the diagnostic of hydatidiform mole had a 4.27 %, and endometrial biopsy with a 0.9%.
The mean age of the study was 32 years.
