Resumen
The objective of the study was to evaluate the profitability of quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd) production in the community of Santa Rosa, Tarqui Parish, comparing its profitability with milk production. Three doses of organic fertilizer (AO) (treatments: T1 = 10 t ha-1, T2 = 20 t ha-1, T3 = 30 t ha-1 and a control with four replicates) and a replicate submitted to Irrigation (Factorial Design of 2x4). The results indicated that the treatments 30 t ha-1 (3.71 t ha-1); 20 t ha-1 (3.97 t ha-1), and 10 t ha-1 (3.43 t ha-1) are higher than the control (2.74 t ha-1). Highly significant differences were also found for the irrigation factor. The highest yield was obtained with the factor Irrigation (CR) with 3.87 t ha-1 and the lowest yield without the Irrigation Factor (SR) with 3.04 t ha-1, with a difference of 0.83 t ha-1. The results indicated that the yield of quinoa increases as the amount of organic manure increases; And that the profitability of quinoa production exceeds the profitability of milk production. Concluding that quinoa in the Santa Rosa community of the Tarqui parish could be an agricultural product, which improves the income of farmers.
