dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Sexual and reproductive health of indigenous women is a priority in the exercise of women´s rights, but they are vulnerable to health problems associated with pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, family planning and personal development. Objective: To establish the sexual and reproductive health situation in indigenous women of the Kañari ethnic group in the community of Quilloac in the province of Cañar in 2016 - 2017. Materials and methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study, 193 indigenous women in reproductive age were included. Information was collected through a form with indicators of sexual and reproductive health from the "Demographic and Health Surveys". Variables such as: age, marital status, level of education, sexual activity, etc. were included. The data was tabulated in the Microsoft Excel program, after which a descriptive analysis was performed. Results: 70.98% of the population ranged from 15 to 20 years, 59.04% were single. 44.04% are unemployed and 72.54% have attended secondary school. The 61.14% belong to the low socioeconomic level. A 78,1% initiates the sexual life between the 15 and 19 years. The 78.7% received prenatal care by qualified health personnel, as well as perinatal and postnatal care. Conclusion: The majority of the indigenous women treated in the health center is between 15 and 20 years old. There was an early age for the onset of sexual and reproductive life, most don’t use contraceptives, and those who does obtain them from the Hospital
