This work includes the study and reverse engineering of a DC charging station for electric vehicles. The study begins with an analysis of the internal and external components of a multi-connector charging station that incorporates the CHAdeMO and CCS1 standards for DC charging and an IEC 62196 type 2 connector for AC charging.
The design of a multi-connector DC charging station is proposed, which incorporates the CHAdeMO and CCS2 standards and is capable of supplying a power of up to 120 kW. In the proposal, an analysis of the choice of standards is carried out. The characterization and dimensioning of the components is also detailed and the diagrams of each of the sections of the charging station are specified.
Through the use of a simulation, using the PSim® software, the energy transfer stage is recreated from the charging station to the battery of a vehicle. During the experiments, different current levels are used to visualize the time it takes for the state of charge to reach 80% of its total value.
This work presents the details of the operation of the communications system of the charging station, using technologies from different manufacturers for this purpose. The communication protocol used by each manufacturer affects the design of the charging station. This detail is presented in the design methodology of the proposed charging station.
To determine how convenient it is to implement a multi-connector fast charging station in the country, a pre-feasibility study is carried out. This analysis includes the situation of electromobility, the available resources, the social and environmental impact that it would cause and the cost that its construction entails.
