Resumen
Background: Considering the entity under study and the importance of independence in children with Down Syndrome, we decided to carry out the following research, using the Dependency Rating Scale (BVD).
Overall objective: To identify the level of dependency in children with Down Syndrome of the Centers CEDIN DOWN AND ADINEA.
Methodology: Descriptive cross-sectional quantitative study, the study population are children with Down syndrome from 3 to 5 years of the "CEDIN DOWN AND ADINEA" centers of the city of Cuenca, a direct evaluation was performed, the instrument used Was the Dependency Rating Scale (BVD). The respective permits were made in the centers of study. The respective permits were made in the Centers for study reasons. The results obtained were analyzed through the statistical tables of frequency and percentages.
Results: According to the BVD Dependency Rating Scale, applied to 30 children with Down Syndrome of the Cedin Down and Adinea centers, 16.7% (5) corresponds to Grade 1 or Light Dependence; 73.3% (22) corresponds to Grade 2 or Moderate Dependency and 10.0% (3) corresponds to a Grade 3 or High Dependency
