Methodology: An analytical and transversal research was carried out. The sample consisted of 341 students. A survey was applied, information was collected on forms, and data were processed using the SPSS V.15 program using absolute frequency, percentage, Chi square and risk estimation, which were represented in tables.
Results: The prevalence of psychostimulant use is 64.8%, while that of caffeine is 60.7%, modafinil is 9.7% and methylphenidate is 1.8%. There was greater frequency of consumption in women (44%), between 18 and 24 years (61.3%), Medicine (37.5%), (OR:1,8, IC95%:1,15-2,82, p:0,01), in recent years (35.2%) and with religion (53,1%). Similarly, in students who study and work (10.3%), (OR: 2, 32, IC95%:1, 08-5, 01, p: 0, 04), who sleep <8 hours per day (56.9%), who perform extracurricular activities (37.5%) and with a moderate / high level of stress and dissatisfaction with their academic performance (61.5% and 54%).
