This study took a population of 135 neonates with ABO incompatibility maternal and child Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital of Cuenca, between the November 1, 1999 and May 31, 2000, it was established that 37 percent of patients developed the box isoinmuniación mediated with the appearance of jaundice, the prevalence of ABO incompatibility is 6 percent, also determined that infants are small for gestational age term of the most frequently develop the isoinmuniación [20 percent], followed by infants appropriate for gestational age term with 13.3 percent; the most common blood group in the mother was the type O with 61.4 percent and in neonates was the type A with 63 percent, so the mother-child ABO incompatibility was the most frequent type OA with 50.4 percent [ 68 patients] of which 33.8 percent developed jaundice in the first 48 hours. With regard to medical conduct adopted against mother-child ABO incompatibility; The observation was made in 83.7 percent [113 patients] of which 28 developed jaundice no complications, phototherapy was performed in 14.8 percent [20 patients] of which three suffered mild dehydration and one had hypoglycemia, there were no complications directly related to the onset of jaundice Isoimmunization.
