Resumen
Introduction:
We will analyze the factors that influence on the adherence to treatment in these patients in reason that each day there are more older adults with this disease and because in the future a good adherence to treatment would improve their quality of life
Objectives: Is to determine factors associated with the adherence to treatment in the elderly hypertensive patients from rural parishes of the Canton Gualaceo 2015.
Methodology: We carried out an observational analytical, cross-sectional study, with a sample of 276 elderly hypertensive patients who come to the subcenters of rural parishes of the canton Gualaceo and in Views home. For the evaluation of adherence to treatment was applied the test of Bonilla and of real; and the Morisky-Green test; to determine the functionality of the family used the family APGAR. The data were analyzed with the SPSS v15.
Results: It was found a low therapeutic adherence of 4.0% according to Morisky also according to Bonilla was presented an advantage for adherence of 8.7%; risk of non-adherence 22.5% and non-adherence 68.8%. The civil status, occupation, family structure and the level of instruction is associated to the no adherence to treatment. The non-adherence to treatment was higher in the patients with absence of control of blood pressure, with the presence of comorbidities and complications of high blood pressure.
Conclusions: The adherence to treatment in hypertensive patients is very low and depends on several factors of which the family functionality is important
