Resumen
BACKGROUND: Sports injuries can occur especially at the lower limb level with repercussions at a physical, psychological, social and economic level, being transcendental to establish prophylactic intervention measures to avoid or control said risk.GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the risk of suffering sports injuries through the application of the Functional Movement Screen Test in Amateur Soccer players of the Carneras UPS.METHODOLOGY:A quantitative, observational, descriptive, prospective and transversal investigation was carried out in 32 players of the Amateur Soccer players that make up the Carneras UPS team, through the application of the Functional Movement Screen Test. The information was processed in the SPSS15.0 software and decisions were made with a significance of 0.05.USE OF RESULTS:The average age of the 32 players was 20 years (SD = 2.79) with an average BMI of 18.37 kg / m2 (SD = 7.81). When applying the Functional Movement Screen Test it was found that the most difficult test was the hurdle step with a value of 9% and the least difficult test was the stability of the leg in extension with a value of 41%.CONCLUSION:It was reported that 76.92% of the participants presented risk of suffering injuries and 28% presented acceptable motor condition. Furthermore, statistically significant relationship was not found between the results obtained fromthe Functional Movement Screen Test with the variables of age, BMI and frequency of training.
