Resumen
Egon Eiermann is considered one of the most outstanding architects of post-war Germany, who not only created hight-level architectural creations, but also excelled in furniture design. Because of the strict order and universality of his work,
his architecture is compared to that of Mies van der Rohe,
one of the greatest representatives of Modern Architecture.
The main objective of this research is to determine the project
tools, strategies, and project materials that can be extracted
from Egon Eiermann´s work. For this purpose, a qualitative
methodology is applied based on the recommendations of
the book “El proyecto moderno Pautas de investigación” by
Cristina Gastón and Teresa Rovira (2007); which is focuses for
this research on the analysis of two case studies: The German
Pavilion at the Brussels Exhibition and the IBM Headquarters
in Stuttgart, as two of the most representative works of Egon
Eiermann´s professional maturity as an architect of Modernity.
