dc.description.abstract | Pasamanería SA Company, localized in parish “El Vecino” of Cuenca-Ecuador, developed a preventive system to improve working conditions and to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases.
This study performed in yarn manufacturing area of the company, considered risk factors at work in each of the activities to which workers are exposed in spinning section.
Also, some generalities of the company were described. Furthermore, risk identification and assessment was conducted using national and international methodologies of techniques focused at the prevention of occupational risks, such as noise measurements, particulate material monitoring, surveys about psychosocial risks applying Demand-Control model, application of William Fine method for mechanical risks, application of Rula method for ergonomic risks and to assess the fire risk, the Meseri method was performed.
Following the assessment of risk factors, general and specific prevention actions are proposed, that will allow minimize the risk, first at the sources of hazards, then at the transmission of the hazard and finally at the workers . Also, the study considered a brief budget analysis of occupational safety and health, highlightingthe highest risk levels.
The risk of higher incidence is associated with the noise generated in spinning section, whose values were compared with other industry studies showing similarity. | |
