Resumen
Architectural construction is a creative work, which means that in
addition to new designs, it is necessary to find new natural materials,
which adapt to current needs, and at the same time, minimize the
negative impact on nature. This work contributes to this end, as it
describes the process that has been carried out to prepare a catalog
of the properties of timber species found in the province of Morona
Santiago, Ecuador and that by 2020, were not yet registered in the
Ministry of the Environment.
Twenty-six timber species that were found in the Morona Santiago
province were collected, from these, six were selected, with the aim of
studying the moisture content, resistance to static bending, compression
parallel and perpendicular to the fiber and density. anhydrous.
The determination of the different properties such as specimen
dimensions, machine speed and furnace temperature, was based on
the methods of:
- The Standard of the Institute of Standardization of Chile (INN)
176/1,
- The Standard Instituto de Normalización de Chile (INN) 176/2 of the
year 1984,
- American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D143-94 Wood
Standard. Based on the study and comparison of these standards, a
laboratory work was carried out with the six prioritized timber species,
based on this work, the analysis of their physical and mechanical
properties is exhibited in this document. they detail the possible uses.
In summary, it can be affirmed that those with medium density and
resistance can be used for the construction area in the elaboration of
structural elements, in the manufacture of furniture and cabinets, of
moldings for the exterior, also for floors, for decking, likewise, in
the manufacture of doors and windows. On the other hand, those of
lower density can be used to make decorative elements and also for
formwork
