Gualaquiza is one of the twelve cantons belonging to the province of Morona Santiago and is known as the "Pearl of the Amazon". It has several tourist attractions such as waterfalls, rivers, archaeological ruins, protected areas by the Municipal Autonomous Decentralized Government, and private access sites among which stands out El Gato Botanical Garden, which has been considered one of the main natural tourist attractions of the canton. This garden has a great variety of flora and fauna that draws the attention of national and foreign tourists, which allows tourism activity to grow locally. This site receives a large number of tourists every year due to the positioning it has achieved and the effort made by its owner to keep the place preserved.
The main purpose of the present research work is to propose the implementation of two paths for bird
watching in El Gato Botanical Garden in Gualaquiza, Morona Santiago Province, because this place has abundant flora and fauna essential to develop the activity of bird life as it is becoming a great potential to develop tourism and be in contact with nature.
