Ceroxylon vogelianum is an Andean palm of great importance in the elaboration of religious crafts associated with the Catholic feast of Easter. This practice has caused the overexploitation of wild populations. The objective of this research was to establish a methodology for the in vitro germination of C. vogelianum, through the evaluation of four culture media: Murashige & Skoog (MS ) , MS + coconut water (AC) 25% / L , MS + gibberellic acid (GA3) to (0.2mg / L) , MS + GA3 (0.2 mg / L) + benzylaminopurine (BAP) to (2mg / L) , and a control sown following traditional practices of nurserymen. The results indicate that embryos germinated in all treatments except for the traditional control sown on the ground. Highest germination was recorded in the MS + gibberellic acid (GA 3) to (0.2 mg / L) with a 22% germination. The production costs per plant for the four in vitro culture media evaluated ranged from 0.87 to 0.89 dollars
