Resumen
This document shows the different options for the propulsion of small boats (Solar Boats) through an electric outboard motor that is powered by a battery bank whose energy can be recharged with the capture of solar radiation, through photovoltaic panels. We have developed an analysis for the system considering the advantages and limitations of environmental, economic and social issues. In function of this requirements (speed, time and distance) for replacing the conventional system of gasoline, we obtain a solar boat model, which let have a greater continuity in the river transport into of the south amazon region of Ecuador. Besides, it will be very important to Yantsa Li Etsari project, because this will let the entrance of the technicians of the Centrosur, to visit to the communities that are located around of the rivers that have photovoltaic systems.
The proposed Solar Boat System contributes to reduce CO2 emissions and help to preserve the environment of the Amazon rainforest. This seeks to demonstrate the feasibility and sustainability of the project for navigation on rivers in the study region (Morona Santiago).
