Resumen
In this thesis the formulation of the distribution of horizontal forces in buildings produced by earthquakes is developed, considering the effect of the flexotorsor moment, in order to know the magnitudeof displacements and the rigidities coefficients of the vertical resistant structures.
To give solution to this issue a study of the PPG method is used. This method carries the real physical phenomenon to an ideal model equivalent and simplified, using the displacement method in their matrix approach. Moreover, the effect of flexotorsor moment is introduced into the method, applying the theory of Vlasov. For the calculation and distribution of the base shear is used the NEC.Subsequently, an arbitrary numerical example of a six-story building is resolved, and also, a comparative analysis of two results is performed:the first without considering the effect of flexotorsor moment and the second considering the same.
As a result of this investigation, it was found that the consideration of the effect of flexotorsor moment generates a more efficient distribution of horizontal forces.Greater flexural rigidity, shear and flexure torsion of the vertical stiffening elements is obtained. It is also possibleto reduce the magnitude of displacement. This allows us to increase resistance, stability, security, and functionality of the building.
