Consumption and art; The art of consumption, consumption as a universal condition of modern society.
This project identifies artistic, social and economic elements that influence the artistic product´s consumption in the city of Cuenca, at the Azuay province, in Ecuador. To that end, two perspectives of consumer consumption are considered: mercantile and intellectual. It achieves to spot the following driving forces to consumption: i) economics, ii) mass media, iii) artistic lenguages and iv) education.
The artistic proposal addresses the issue of the personal dimension of art-consumption, it deals with the identity in a sense of belonging and how the consumption desire ends with freedom as it is satisfied.
