dc.description.abstractBACKGROUND. Good habits of hygiene are the most effective way to prevent infectious diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia, which together are responsible for the majority of infant deaths, which is why each year more than 3.5 million children do not reach to celebrate their fifth birthday. Despite the potential to save lives with these habits well spent, such as hand washing with soap is seldom practiced and not always easy to promote. GENERAL PURPOSE. Identify the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices about hygiene habits with Children / Education Unit as Eugenio Francisco Tamariz. METHODOLOGY. The present study was a quantitative approach because it allowed us to record and examine the data numerically, a research design was used because unveiled in general which have hygiene habits that students have acquired and action interventions nurses were conducted to improve knowledge. The universe was made up of students who met the inclusion criteria. RESULTS. 124 students were surveyed, of whom 91.9% known about hygiene standards and 8.1% do not know about it. With the results of this investigation we proceeded to inform the authorities of the Education Unit to propose and implement an educational program in order to improve and encourage the practice of hygienic habits in students who are unaware, the minimum percentage. CONCLUSIONS. According to the research results, it is concluded that students have and practice good hygiene
