Resumen
This research aims to study the superstructure of the Naranjal 1 Bridge, which is part of the "Control de inundaciones del Río Naranjal."
This paper deals with the bridges topic, first. Then, it presents a slab girder bridge consisting of several stretchas a solution. Finally, the elements of this superstructure are analyzed. For the beams, which are the main elements of the superstructure, a post tensioned concrete design is proposed in order to reduce costs. As this technique allows the reduction of the section, reduces dead loads, fissures, and therefore deflections, the cost will be lower. The beams are designed using the AASHTO and ACI standards governing the design of bridges. The design of the slab is made of reinforced concrete and regulated by AASHTO and MOP standards
