Resumen
The purpose of this work is to generate the guidelines that allow the
adequate use of agroecological soils with high agricultural potential,
since the inadequate and accelerated growth of the city goes against
an appropriate development for the conservation of the soils, these
being the main source for obtaining food and sustenance for the
population. It focuses on the rural urban transition zone of the city of
Cañar, also known with different terminologies such as peri-urban,
rururban, among other terms, being this space in which activities and
uses of an urban and rural nature collide or are shared. The focus of
the research is established from various procedures and
methodological schemes such as: information gathering, definition of
territorial systems, generation of maps, supervised classification on
satellite image of the study area and cartographic analysis. The main
result is a rural urban transition zone of 409.04 hectares, with an area
of 382.61 hectares suitable for agricultural activities, in addition to
perceiving a predominant area of 312.26 hectares dedicated to
grazing, an area that must be treated under the guidelines imposed to
prevent, mainly, the loss of their productive values. Therefore, it is
concluded that this research intends to establish guidelines for an
appropriate use of the soil, trying to conserve and prevent the loss of
its fertile layer, for which environmental, physical and legal aspects
were taken into consideration, keeping in limbo the economic aspects,
isms that are considered for the determination of urban areas.
