The objective of this research was to analyze the perception of the residents regarding the organization and leadership in the neighborhood June 19 of Yanuncay Parish in Cuenca, understanding the organizational processes and leadership from the complexity paradigm that allows a holistic, deep and contextual understanding of psychosocial processes; contemplating within the organization subcategories such as participation, empowerment and self-management; within the leadership intrapersonal relationships, interpersonal relationships, neighborhood integration, management and motivation. It is a study with a qualitative approach, with non-experimental design and exploratory scope. The participants of this research were 6 residents in total: a historical leader of the neighborhood, a current coordinator and four residents of different neighborhood territories, the instrument that was used was the semi-structured interview.
It was obtained as results that the perceptions regarding the organization and the leadership by the leaders and the female residents are not far, that the organization is weakened by the institutional interference in managing the election of the neighborhood board and not be an initiative of the dwellers, there are also cultural, socio-economic differences and expectations facing the neighborhood by the founding partners and the new residents, which has generated power and conflict relations within it.
In terms of leadership, the new coordinator has not been able to legitimize the new coordinator due to the disagreements that have been generated with the inhabitants of the neighborhood, and the refusal of the historical leader to leave the neighborhood management since she exercised a paternalistic leadership that It offered solutions without the need for a direct link between the residents
