Resumen
This research work carries out a comparative analysis of the regulatory framework of Ecuador, Japan, Colombia and Spain, regarding the regulation of the principle of extended responsibility of the producer in the specific case of electrical and electronic waste, due to the growing obsolescence programmed, which has caused the production of a greater amount of electrical and electronic equipment, as a result of this a greater amount of WEEE, due to this it is necessary to implement legislation that specifically regulates the issue. Methodologically, the comparative, dogmatic and historical method was used. The main results that emerged from the present investigation were that Ecuador, although there is regulation of WEEE that are within the hazardous and special wastes, it is very limited, which causes regulatory deficiencies to regulate efficiently and Sustainable this waste. To solve this problem, it was necessary to establish as a basis the regulations of Spain, Colombia and Japan because when analyzing and taking as reference its legislation, it was possible to give way to the identification of the relevant aspects and good practices implemented that resulted in a sustainable regulation, by means of which it allows to make a proposal of implementation of aspects, principles and good practices that allow the construction of a specific WEEE regulation, which allows a correct management and regulation of this waste in Ecuador.
