The achievement of learning in students, is the main goal of schools and more specifically of its authorities and teaching staff, without ignoring the concern that parents also have for this aspect. In the society in which we currently live, knowledge occupies a vast space and the process with which information is handled by the student is a factor of great importance. This research parts from this preface, which aims to identify the types of learning strategies and determine the most used strategy and the least used by a group of students. The study that has a quantitative approach, whose design is non-experimental of descriptive type, used as an instrument the Scales of Learning Strategies -ACRA- by Román & Gallego (2008), which was applied to a sample of 118 eighth-year students of elementary school. The results obtained showed that of the learning strategies: acquisition of information, codification of information, Information retrieval and support to processing; the most used was Information Coding and the least used was Information Retrieval. Regarding gender, it was determined that women have a greater management of learning strategies.
