Resumen
The lack of certification in the Middle for building materials leads to the use of materials such as masonry: bricks, blocks of pumice, gypsum, fibre-cement, raw materials processing and manufacturing generate a high energy and environmental cost. What usually occurs in Ecuadorian construction is that there is not a system of eco-labels, there is not classification by material and control or environmental certificate which encourage manufacturer and professional construction to their production and use.
Facing this problem is proposed a type I environmental label for manufacturers of masonry materials giving the following categories according to the percentage of compliance with the established criteria: 75% standard, intermediate 75% - 89%, good practice 89% - 100%. This achieves is to decrease the energy and environmental costs.
To ponder a type I environmental label is used the process of hierarchical analysis method with surveys to specialists with expertise environmental among them are architects and environmental engineers. The categorization is obtained through compliance with the leading manufacturers with the criteria of the Colombian regulations “Norma TécnicaColombiana NTC 6033 (EtiquetasAmbientalesTipo I SelloAmbientalColombiano (SAC). Criteriosambientales para ladrillos y bloques de Arcilla). Environmental criteria for bricks and clay blocks)”, because there are not regulations and environmental certifications for the eco-labelling of materials in the country.
