METHODOLOGY: This research is a descriptive study was conducted at a universe of 109 doctors and nurses in the areas of health 1.2, 3 and 4 urban Canton Cuenca. A survey with questions designed to assess the level of knowledge about sexual and reproductive health rights staff was applied.
RESULTS: The degree of knowledge about sexual and reproductive rights in health personnel was low in 11.9% of cases; normal in 55% and good in 33%.
The good level of knowledge was higher staff: male (40.6%), 40 years or older (58.8%); working in Sub Health Centre (35.6%); Medical Specialists 50%; who worked 4-5 years as professionals and who received 1-2 courses on SSR.
The degree of knowledge is not associated with any variable (p> 0.05) in study or demographic (age, gender) and work variables (type of unit that works, vocational training, professional time working as corny or received). Based on our results we conclude that knowledge of SSR in the working population health is relatively good, however vacos found regarding this topic of concern.
The degree of knowledge on this subject apparently depends on personal concern for their own training rather than occupational factors.
