The purpose of this research is to investigate the variables that significantly influence the income of distributors of a multilevel marketing business in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador and the evolution of employment in this direct sales activity. For the income variable, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out with 92 distributors and a correlation was used for the association of variables of the characteristics of the distributors and a multiple linear regression to optimize the synergy of the variables that impact on their income. With regard to employment, the secondary source of the Internal Revenue Service was used to analyze its evolution. The results show a positive and significant relationship of seniority, volume of purchases and hours of training in the income of distributors of direct sales and an evolution of the number of commission agents in this activity
