Resumen
Objectives:
Identify the prevalence of cytological abnormalities in cervical smears and associated factors in cytology performed in the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in 2010.
Methodology:
We conducted a quantitative and descriptive, retrospective, from total cervical smear reports Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in 2010.
Results:
The prevalence of cytologic abnormalities in the study population was as follows: 3.1% HSIL, LSIL 2.9%, 0.8% adenocarcinoma and ASC-US or 0.5% was found 92.7 % of normal studies and only the parity was associated with the presence of this type of injury, the other factors were not statistically significant.
Conclusion:
It was concluded that cytological abnormalities mentioned most frequently, in order of frequency are HSIL, LSIL, and ASCUS ADENOCARCINOMA. The lesions found were more prevalent in older than in multiparous women with early sexual initiation, with use of oral or injectable contraception and pregnancy ended via vaginal delivery.
