Resumen
Background.- The nutritional status depends on the quality of their habits and the type of food they eat; influencing positively or negatively the health of university students due to the intensity of the workload that reduces the time for their domestic activities, specifically in those who live without their parents, this reality becomes visible in the consumption of foods without nutritional value suitable.
Objective.- To determine the nutritional habits related to the nutritional status of students from the first to sixth cycle of the School of Nursing with migrant parents.
Materials and Method.- The study is descriptive, transversal, the universe represented by 66 students from the first to the sixth cycle of Nursing, who are in the condition of migrant parents. The quantitative technique used was the Graffar method to assess socioeconomic status, the taking of anthropometric measurements and the questionnaire to evaluate eating habits. Processing is done in the SPSS 24, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel 2013) programs. For the analysis, descriptive statistics are studied with frequencies and percentages.
Results.- Nutritional habits are poor in 65% of students, 41.5% have nutritional disorders such as overweight and obesity, related to the type of habits they have, 78.8% according to the graff method correspond to the level high socioeconomic status and are the children of migrants.
Conclusions.- The study shows the influence of the migrant parents' condition on the nutritional habits and the nutritional status of the students.
