Resumen
The construction industry is constantly developing and seeking to improve the quality of its products as well the life quality of our society.
Since the current constructions demand higher requirement the development of "High performance concrete" plays an important role to meet the needs of society.
In the present investigation, it was design a concrete mixture capable of meeting the requirements of a compressive strength exceeding 1000 kg / cm2, good workability, excelent durability, absorption reduction and an incress of density.
For the fines was try several mixing doses, making a standard mixture (0% silica fume) and 9 mixtures varying the percentage of silica fume.
In addition to a high range water reducing additive (Viscocrete 4100) conforming to ASTM C494.
Destructive tests (compressive strength, tensile and flexural strength) and non-destructive tests (sclerometric index, pulse velocity, electrical resistivity) are tested for the durability of the concrete. The research also analice the economic isue, such as the analysis of total cost optimization.
As a final result, mixtures from self-compacting to fluid workability, with a maximum compressive strength of 1450 kg / cm2 at 28 days, corresponding to cement weight percentages of 10% silica fume and 0.9% additive, with an a / c ratio of 0.24.
