Existing pavement surfaces increase waterproof areas because receiving large volumes of water interrupting the natural cycle of water flow causing flooding and pollution to aquatic bodies. One of the alternative techniques of drainage corresponds to the porous asphalt pavements, that allow the percolation of water; slowing down the runoff generated by the rain. Another problem that traditional pavements present is the hydroplaning caused by the effect of water on the surface, the tires do not have an adequate adhesion. The objective of this project is to study dosages in the laboratory for flexible porous pavements applied to Mariscal La Mar Airport in Cuenca, Ecuador; by means of two methodologies: "AASHTO 93" and "THE SUDS MANUAL CIRIA" where the content of voids must be controlled to obtain an increase of porosity without altering the resistance. The design of the asphalt binder was determined for the structural and hydrological conditions of the area, the optimum percentage of asphalt was calculated with the Marshall test being 6.4% corresponding to 2980 pounds of stability and 0.15 inches of flow with 18.74% of voids; the design period was 20 years resulting in 9 cm according to ASSTHTO and 6 cm using THE SUDS MANUAL, the minimum value was chosen according to the international regulation "Airport Pavement Desingn and Avaluation" of 10 cm. The budget of the porous pavement is $ 1034708.40 while with the traditional pavement is $ .1274306.40.
