Abstract
The heritage buildings in the Historic Center of Cuenca have as common elements the adobe walls, which are susceptible to threats of natural and anthropic origin, producing their deterioration over time. For the conservation of adobe walls, it is necessary to know its constructive state. In this regard, the vlirCPM1 project of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Cuenca, in 2013, conducted an investigation where a damage registration system was proposed to determine the condition of adobe walls, based on the determination of indicators measurable and their respective variables, which were synthesized in a matrix of prioritization and weighting, through which a multivariate system was applied that allows to have an integral indicator that qualifies the condition of the wall. This indicator not only reflects the urgency of intervention but also the type of intervention required or monitoring actions for conservation. Based on the aforementioned work, the purpose of this research is to verify whether the proposed evaluation system constitutes a contribution and has a practical application to address the intervention problem. The system is applied in several adobe buildings in the city of Cuenca. The results and conclusions make it possible to verify, if the mathematical method proposed is valid and makes it possible to have an integral vision of the damage status, and at the same time provide greater security when making fundamental decisions for the conservation of heritage.
