Resumen
The aim of this research to determine the hematological alterations in dogs infected with Canine monocytic ehrlichiosis (CME) in chronic phase, by Hematic Biometry, immunochromatographic assay and Blood Smear. To this end, 30 dogs were used from the Consultorio Veterinario de Especialidades GM, of ages 1 and over, sex and mixed breed and high cross breed, which have been infested with ticks, in addition they have had signs of infection by E. canis. For the blood smear of peripheral blood extracted by puncture of the ear pinna. In order to perform the immunochromatography test serum or plasma was collected. For the hemogram, the blood sample was extracted by jugular or cephalic venopuncture. For the characteristics of the sample, for the comparison of the frequencies for each variable, Fisher's exact test was used, with which the following values were obtained: ages p = 0,211 > 0,05; genetic condition p = 0,393 > 0,05; Sex p = 0,392 > 0,05; Weight p = 0,16 > 0,05. In order to determine differences between the categories of age, race and sex, the Chi-square was used. In the blood cells of the dogs that integrated the sample, the following percentages of pancytopenia were obtained: 80% had leukopenia, 96.7% anemia and all had thrombocytopenia, representing a homogenous sample for the goal of this investigation. The immunochromatography method identified 7 positive cases of the 30 investigated, which is equal to 23.3% probability of finding CME by Ehrlichia spp. The blood smear method identified 8 positive cases of the 30 dogs under study equivalent to 26%, the likelihood of finding CME by Ehrlichia spp. in chronic phase
