In this paper, the validation of an analytical methodology for the calculation of deflections in a reinforced concrete beam with asymmetric section submitted to biaxial bending is carried out through a numerical model developed in the Ansys Workbench Software. Mathematical analytical development is based on the methodology proposed in the ACI 318 and the ACI 435 for the calculation of the deflections in the initial stages, evaluating each of the main axes, where bending occurs, separately. In the modelingall the considerations to which the beam of study is subjected are taken into account in order that the obtained results have the necessary reliability to give validity to the deflections obtained through the analytical methodology. The bibliography on the determination of deflections in reinforced concrete beams deals mainly with the case of simple bending and, moreover, with beams of rectangular section, that is why it has been considered important to address this problem in a “L” type section.
